Privacy Policy

What CleanSlate does

CleanSlate is a Chrome extension that helps you bulk-delete your own Instagram likes, comments, and posts by automating actions you could otherwise only perform manually, one at a time, from Instagram's own "Your Activity" page.

What information we access

CleanSlate reads the content of the Instagram page you have open in your browser tab (only on instagram.com) in order to identify and click the buttons needed to complete a deletion you've requested. This happens entirely inside your browser.

• We do not access your Instagram username, password, or any login credentials.
• We do not read your private messages, followers list, or any content outside of the specific "Your Activity" pages CleanSlate operates on.
• We do not use Instagram's private API or any method that requires your credentials.

What information we store

CleanSlate stores a small amount of data locally in your browser (via Chrome's storage API), including:

• Your language and theme preference
• Your daily deletion count (to enforce the free plan limit)
• Your Pro license key, if you've purchased CleanSlate Pro

None of this data is sent to us or to any third party except as described below.

What we send to our servers

CleanSlate sends the following, and only the following, information to our infrastructure (hosted on Cloudflare):

• License validation: if you enter a Pro license key, it is sent to our license server to confirm it's valid and belongs to CleanSlate. We use LemonSqueezy's official license API for this — no license data is stored by us beyond confirming activation.
• Anonymous daily quota check: for free-plan users, we check a daily usage counter tied to a non-identifying technical fingerprint (IP address + browser type) to prevent abuse of the free tier (e.g., repeatedly uninstalling and reinstalling to bypass daily limits). This does not include your name, email, or Instagram identity.

Third-party services

CleanSlate uses the following third-party services:

• LemonSqueezy — for processing Pro plan payments and license key validation. See LemonSqueezy's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Workers — hosts our license validation and quota-check endpoints. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Data retention

Local data (stored in your browser) persists until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data. Server-side quota data is automatically deleted after 26 hours. We do not retain any deletion history or content data.

Your rights

Since CleanSlate does not maintain user accounts or personal profiles, there is no personal data for us to export or delete on request beyond what's described above. Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored data immediately.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Material changes will be reflected here before taking effect.
